What you leave with

Most fests give you a tote bag.

This one gives you something a university will actually read.

01

A certificate

From your masterclass and your challenge. Handed out at the close.

02

A competition credential

Earned against the sharpest students in your city. Not participation fluff.

03

A shortlist

University reps in the room. Ask them the things email never answers.

04

A trophy, maybe

If you win your challenge. Everyone else still walks out with the certificate.

Beyond Marks: The New Rules of Admission

Two hours with Mr Ajay Sharma, Founder Director of Student Outreach. Your own hall, 8:30 to 10:30 AM, while your child is in theirs.

Topic 01

What colleges read after the marksheet

Why a 95% doesn't do what it did five years ago, and what gets looked at instead.

Topic 02

Scholarships — who actually gets them

Merit, need-based and country-specific aid. When to apply, and what disqualifies a strong student.

Topic 03

The real cost of an education

India versus abroad, tuition versus total outlay, and the numbers families are usually shown too late.

Topic 04

What to do in Class 11

The moves that matter more than anything attempted in the last six months of Class 12.

Your registration also gets you the College Expo for Parents — direct conversations with university representatives on the floor. Parent registration is mandatory and separate from your child's. Lunch is for students only.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Who can come?

Classes 11 and 12, from schools invited to this edition. Each city takes a limited number of schools so you actually get time with university reps.

Is it actually free?

Yes — students and parents. You still have to register, and we can accept or reject any registration.

Timings?

Guwahati, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bhubaneswar: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Doors 7:30, shut 8:30 sharp.

Online Edition: on Zoom, 29 August, starts 5:00 PM.

Do I have to stay all day?

Leave at 12:30 or stay to 4:00. Certificates come at the close — so leaving early means leaving empty-handed, and the afternoon is the good part.

How many masterclasses can I do?

One. Three run simultaneously and you pick one on the form. The Studio Floor is capped at 30 seats, first come, first served.

Do the Challenges need a separate form?

Yes. This one. Showing up on the day doesn't count. Runs at the four in-person cities. The Online Edition carries two of them — The House and The Boardroom — and you enter through the Zoom registration.

What do parents get?

Own hall, own session with Mr Ajay Sharma, 8:30 – 10:30, then the College Expo for Parents. It covers what colleges read after the marksheet, scholarships, the real cost of an education, and what to do in Class 11. Registration is mandatory and separate.

Is food sorted?

Lunch for students. Not for parents.

What do I bring?

School ID and your registration confirmation.

Can I be an ambassador?

Yes — apply here.

Who do I ask?
